Lois Jean Barker, 75, of Harts, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.
She was born July 14, 1947, at Harts, WV, the daughter of Vonnie Tomblin Frye Tomblin and the late Joe Frye.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Carl Dwaine Barker; her paternal grandparents, Allen and Elsie Frye; her maternal grandparents, Ira and Eunice Tomblin; her father-in-law, Carl Barker; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Barker; and two brothers-in-law, Larry Queen and Brady Fillinger.
Lois was a devout Christian and a member of Guyan Freewill Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, she loved her family and her church family.
Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her passing are her daughter and son-in-law, LaDonna and Logan Williamson of Tabor City, NC; her mother, Vonnie Tomblin of Harts, WV; one granddaughter, Xandria Williamson of Tabor City, NC; two sisters, JoAnn Fillinger and Cerylene (Joel) Workman all of Harts, WV; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Barker of Chapmanville, WV; three nephews, Joseph (Diana) Queen of Harts, WV, Jeremy (Sarah) Queen of Tampa, FL, and Chris Barker; two special great-nieces, Whitney Queen and Elizabeth Queen both of Chapmanville, WV. Additionally, Lois leaves behind her church family and countless friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Eric “Tubby” Rakes officiating.
Burial will follow in Manns Cemetery at Manns Knob, Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
