Linda C. Evans, 77, of Holden, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.

She was born October 9, 1946, at Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Bill and Blanche Stapleton Southers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta “Sissy” Thomas.

Linda retired from Logan Regional Medical Center where she worked in the computer room. She was a devoted Christian and member of the Central United Baptist Church for many years. Her life was marked by her unwavering faith, her passion for gardening, and her exceptional culinary skills. Her family was her pride and joy, and she took great pleasure in cooking Sunday dinners for them.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 59 years, John Evans; one son, Greg Evans of Holden, WV; one daughter, Lisa (Terry) Egnor of Holden, WV; two grandchildren, Dakota Lewis of Bulls Gap, TN, and Caleb Evans of Holden, WV; special friends, Lana Brammer and Dr. Cabauatan; her two feline companions, Ginger and Iddy; many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Faridi and her dialysis family, all the nurses on 3rd floor and ICU at Logan Regional Medical Center, Dr. A. Toparis, Dr. Mullen, Dr. Marzouk, and her transplant team at UVA, especially Dr. Argo, Teresa, and Martha.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Central United Baptist Church at Logan, WV, with Rev. Lonnie Gore, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow in Preece Cemetery at Delbarton, WV. Pallbearers will be Terry Egnor, Caleb Evans, Austin Cochrane, Albert Kolovich, Art Meade, and Scott Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wooten and Larry Brammer.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
