Linda Sue Adkins Adams, 76, of Amherstdale, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2021, leaving from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV.
Born October 9, 1944, at Logan County, WV, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosa Henson Adkins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Adams; four brothers, Jimmy Adkins, Ed Adkins, Roy, Adkins, and Bill Adkins; and two sisters, Bertha Adkins and Carolyn Adkins.
Linda worked as a home supervisor for Rescare for many years. She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of South Man. Her passion was her church. She loved helping with the weekly food pantry, cleaning, and taking care of the church. Her greatest joys, however, were her grandbabies and great-grandbabies.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Cathy (David) Booth; three grandchildren, Kirsten Doty (Mark Dickerson), Danielle (Landon) Stevens, and David Booth, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Doty, Cameron Doty, Avery Doty, and Kailyn Stevens; one brother, John (Sharon) Adkins; four sisters, Judy Adkins, Doris (Michael) Browning, Erma Adkins, and Goldie Kelly. Additionally, Linda also leaves behind her church family along with a host of extended family and friends.
To honor Linda’s wishes, her remains will be cremated.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
