He also leaves behind so many friends, especially "girlfriends" with co-workers, volunteers and people of all walks of life that he enjoyed so much, as he never met a stranger.
Kenneth was a "jack of all trades and master of none" as the old saying goes. Anything he attempted, he accomplished to his degree of satisfaction. He was a retired Captain of Pratt Fire Department and Lake Fire Department with 10 years at each station. He was Defensive Coach for the Montgomery Little Rockets Midget League Football Team with seven years of service and also having served as President, Vice-President and Treasurer for the Upper Kanawha Valley Football League for nine teams. He enjoyed volunteering for Christmas in the Park for 23 years as well as working with restoring the Coalfield Jamboree, The Old Logan Theatre back to its original design and enjoyed "ushering" for the events that were held there; but his greatest joy was "Rebellion in the Hills", Civil War Reenactment held each September.
He worked as an accountant, computer installer and department supervisor for Cannelton Coal and Diamond Shamrock companies. He worked as Supervisor of Fanco Load-Out Facility and was responsible for the one mile belt line and also responsible for loading the coal cars correctly. He was also Supervisor of Maintenance for Wylo Strip.
He retired after 13 years with Amherst Coal, Diamond Shamrock and then Patriot Coal. He then worked for Bridgestone-Firestone Tire Company being responsible for all the tires used on the coal mine strips. He enjoyed a very healthy and active life, traveled some, met many people and loved life to the fullest; but some of his favorite memories are family reunions and memories of “The Park” as this was his old homeplace.
