Kathleen A. Browning

Kathleen A. “Kathy” Browning, 76, of Verdunville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, leaving from Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

Born November 18, 1944, at Englewood, CO, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Leonna Kreps.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Ore; one sister-in-law, Tammy Thompson; brothers-in-law: Shields Ore, Rayburn Browning, Donald Browning, and Rick Kammer.

Kathy was a devout Christian and a very faithful and active member of Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville, WV. She was extremely instrumental in many church organizations and events such as the Ladies Auxiliary and the food and clothing program. She also served as the activity coordinator. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Kathy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 59 years, Virgil Browning, Jr.; one son, Virgil Browning, III; two daughters: Robin Browning Floyd and Marcia Rae Browning Jarrells; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one special niece, Deanna Kay Pinkston; one special brother-in-law, Ron Thompson; two sisters-in-law: Iris Kammer and Billie Browning. Additionally, Kathy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews along with a host of extended family, her church family, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville, WV, with Pastor Lonnie Gore, Assistant Pastor Barney Goins, and Brother Ron Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
