Karen June Tackett

Karen June Tackett, 71, of Dandridge, Tennessee, went to her heavenly home on March 5, 2023.

Karen was a faithful woman who loved the Lord and her family.  As a loving and caring nurse for 30 years, she was very proud to be a caregiver for those in need.

2 Chronicles 15-7:  Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

She was born May 9, 1951, in Paintsville, KY, to the late Rev. Sam Ratliff, Jr., and the late Ruth Rowland Ratliff.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Durwood Bradley Tackett; daughter, Tammy Lynn Tackett; grandson, Senior Airman Donovan Dusty Bradley White; brothers-in-law; Ronnie Stumbo and Roy Tackett; and nephew, Jesse Reed Gilman.

Leaving to cherish her memory include her children, daughter, Tina (Donald) White of Dandridge, TN, son, Matthew (Kimberly) Tackett of Dandridge, TN;  beloved grandchildren, Austin White, Taylor Johnson, Thomas Johnson and Tammy Tackett;  her dear sister, Vanessa Stumbo of Columbia, TN; her brother, Kim (Caroline) Ratliff of Warfield, KY;  two sisters-in-law, Linda Tackett of Varney, WV, and Barbara (Lovell) Gilman of Romney, WV.  Karen also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who took care of Karen during this difficult time. They would also like to thank family friends, Jason Runyon and Johnny Taylor.

Matthew 11: 28-29, Come unto me, all ye that are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
