Judy Adkins, 72, of Holden, WV, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 8, 1951, at Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Clyde & Minnie Stowers McGraw of Pecks Mill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Scott McGraw and Joe McGraw; one sister-in-law, Renee McGraw; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Johnson and Jackie Pete Adkins; and her mother-in-law, Ruby Adkins.
Judy loved her big family and loved spending time gathered around her mother’s table, waiting to tell a “big tale” on someone. If you were around her, it didn’t take very long to figure out she was the life of the party! She loved to talk and make people laugh. Judy loved to travel to Florida with her sisters. She cherished her “sister time” and was always planning the next trip with them. Her kids and grandkids were her heart. She loved them all fiercely and made sure they always knew Mimi was there!
One of the most important people in her life was her “Babe”. He was the greatest husband and caretaker to her and treated her like a queen, day in and day out. He showed her undying love until her last breath in this world.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Adkins; children, Shannon (Dylan) Saunders, Kelli (Bub) Ellis and Chad (Hollie) Barnette; brothers, Gary (Norma) McGraw, Frank (Vella) McGraw all of Pecks Mill, WV, and Donnie( Leola) McGraw of Proctorville, Ohio; sisters, Carol (Marshall) Harrison of Melbourne, FL, Becky Johnson of Pecks Mill, WV and Angie (Tim) Hiers of Yulee, Florida; one sister-in-law, Carol McGraw of Pecks Mill, WV; two brothers-in-law, Ray Adkins of Pennsylvania and Jay (Garnet) Adkins of Man, WV; her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Matt (Diana) Jones, Mackenzie (Jacob) Garza, Nina (Steven) Adkins, Braxton Ellis, Hunter Barnette, Kaylee Barnette and Brantley Ellis; 3 great-grandchildren and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her caretaker, Hallie Thompson, for always making sure she was taken care of.
