Judith Cross Hammond, 82, of Logan, WV, formerly of Tabor City, NC, departed this life on Monday, December 15, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.

She was born May 25, 1943, in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Harvey and Ethel Odom Cross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hammond; and one brother, Danny Cross.

Before her retirement, Judith worked in retail sales. She had a passion for the outdoors and could often be found tending to her garden and flowers, both a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Lareau (Kristy) Barfield; her grandchildren, Samantha (Matt), Stacie, Shawn, Hannah, and Madison; two great-granddaughters, Rylie and Amelia; and three siblings, Corey Cross, Cammie Watts, and Ryan Cross. Additionally, Judith leaves behind her nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

To honor Judith’s wishes, her remains have been cremated, and there will be no services.
