It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Johnny Dwayne Rowe, 68, of Van, WV. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Born July 3, 1954, at Bandytown, WV, the son of the late Thomas (Tommy) Richard Rowe of Gordon, WV, and Chessie Mae Web Bennett of Beaufort, South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Kathy Jean Rowe of Van, WV; daughter, Stephanie Renee Cook of Martha Town, WV; and son, Thomas Dwayne Rowe (Kristin) of Fort Collins, CO; two step children, Kristen Nicole Loftis of Van, WV, and Shawn Allen Loftis (Kara) of Charleston, WV.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve A Rowe (Linda) of New Knoxville OH and half-brother, Dwayne A. Rowe of Logan County, WV.
Johnny cherished his 5 grandchildren, Nathan Adkins of Culloden, WV, Addison, Olivia and Liam Rowe of Fort Collins, CO, and a step grandchild in Heaven, Paton Marie Bishop Prather, (age 6) of Charleston, WV.
He was a Retired Coal Miner and a Deacon at the Brown's Branch FWB Church, where Phillip Rowe was not only his Pastor but also his uncle; however, Johnny would tell you he is more like his brother.
Johnny was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the type of person who could just walk into a room and light it up with his fun personality. He was an exceptionally friendly, outgoing man who never met a stranger and talked to just about everyone he seen. He loved to joke and carry on with his family and friends and always brought smiles to everyone's faces.
He loved golfing, fishing, boating, traveling, vacations, and sports.
He was very much loved by all of his family, church family, friends, coworkers, and many people in our community. He has truly left footprints on a lot of hearts and will greatly be missed.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Phillip Rowe, Rev. Fred Griggs, and Rev. Michael Browning at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV. Viewing will be at 12:00 p.m.
