Johnny Jarrells, Sr., 77, of Buck Fork, Harts, WV, went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 10, 2025, from an extended illness, with his family by his bedside.

He was born on November 28, 1947, at Harts, WV, a son of the late Flintlock and Garnet Tomblin Jarrells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Johnny “JJ” Jarrells, Jr.; three brothers, Dewey, Bobby, and Jesse Jarrells all of Harts, WV; his father-in-law, Don F. Bryant, and his mother-in-law, Susie “Tootsie” Bryant; one brother-in-law, Donald Ralph Bryant; and one nephew, Eric Bartram.

Mr. Jarrells was a retired coal miner from Westmorland Coal Company, Carbon Fuel and US Steel. He was a member of the Mud Fork Freewill Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Johnny cherished the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Dorsie Bryant Jarrells, Johnny is survived by his children, Misty (John) Lane of Chapmanville, WV, and Aaron Jarrells (Kim Nelson) of Kodak TN; a very special daughter-in-law, Misty Dawn Adams of Chapmanville, WV; six grandsons, Caleb Conley, Liam (Lexi) Jarrells, Charles “Trey” Baisden, Mason Jarrells, Terry Jarrells, Colin Jarrells; one bonus granddaughter, Skylar Lane; and one great-granddaughter, Winslow "Winnie" Jarrells. He is also survived by his brother, Agie Jarrells of Verdunville, WV; and two sisters, Wanda (Stan) Adkins and Sharon (Bill) Christian of Chapmanville, WV, one brother-in-law, Larry (Leanna) Bryant of Culloden, WV; and one sister-in-law, Dora Jarrells of Verdunville, WV. Additionally, Johnny leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Glen Tomblin, Rev. Joe Lane, and Rev. Jerry Sutphin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery at Chapmanville, WV. Pallbearers will be Caleb Conley, Charles “Trey” Baisden, Mason Jarrells, Terry Jarrells, Michael Jarrells, and Steven Jarrells.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
