Joann May Butcher of Chapmanville, WV, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at Logan Regional Medical Center, at the age of 80.
She was born September 28, 1940, in Logan, WV, to the late Jimmy and Norma May Bender.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Franklin Butcher, Jr., and her husband, Franklin Butcher, Sr.
Joann worked at Logan Manufacturing Company. She was a devout Christian and attended the Crawley Creek Church of God.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ricky (Debbie) Butcher of Chapmanville, WV; two daughters, Rebecca (C.W.) Cox of North Carolina and Rhonda (Randy) Blevins of Chapmanville, WV; her grandchildren, Tyler Butcher, Destiny (Joshua) Vance, Derrick Blevins, and Nickkie (Casey) Hanks; her great-grandchildren, Marlee Vance, Brayleigh and Matthew Maynard, and one on the way; her sisters, Betty Egnor and Dorothy Mills, and one half-sister, Alice Stephens. Additionally, Joann leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Vivie Marcum officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery at Canoe Branch. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
