Jimmy Darrell “JD” Spencer, 72, of Whitman, WV, formerly of Pigeon Roost, entered into his heavenly home on Sunday, May 3, 2026, leaving from his earthly residence surrounded by his loving family.

JD was born on August 31, 1953, in Logan, WV, to the late Roy and Lucille Spencer.

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. JD retired from CSX Railroad, but his favorite job over the last 15 years was working as a courier for Logan Regional Medical Center, where he cherished making new friends. He was a devoted member of #20 Whitman Community Church.

JD will always be remembered for the joy and laughter he shared, his love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, banana splits, and a good cup of fresh hot coffee. Most of all, he will be remembered for the deep love he had for God, family, and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sheila Spencer; sons, Jimmy (Michelle) Spencer, Shawn (Jennifer) Beavers, and Kevin Brewster; daughters, Karen Stevens, Sabrina Dickman, Katrina McClellan, and Carrie (Chad) Adkins; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Per JD’s wishes, graveside services will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Pastor Joaquine Ooten officiating.

Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Chapter #6153, American Legion Chapter #103 of Chapmanville, and DAV Chapter #39 of Harts.
