Jessica Ellen Russell, 43, of Chapmanville, WV, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born April 19, 1982, at Logan, WV, the daughter of Doug Harwood of Charleston, WV, and the late Carolyn Mullins Harwood.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ezra and Cora Mullins; her paternal grandparents, Dale and Totsy Harwood; and one special cousin, Seth Sigmon.

Jessica was a devoted wife and mother, whose presence brought comfort and joy to her loved ones. Known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit, her passion for life was evident in her love for cooking and gardening. She found solace in the rhythms of nature, often tending to her flowers with a gentle hand and a keen eye for beauty. Above all, Jessica treasured the moments spent with her family. Her home was a haven of laughter and love. Jessica's legacy is one of unconditional love and the simple pleasures of life. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Chad Russell; her children, Benjamin Reed and Leah June; her father, Doug Harwood; two brothers, Jason (Terrie) Harwood and Jarrod (Alyssa) Harwood; brother-in-law, Josh Russell; her parents-in-law, Niwana Russell and Ronnie Richardson; uncles and aunts, Angus (Beverly) Mullins, Debbie Sigmon, Maryann (Roger) Bearsley, Charlotte Dane, Debra Williamson, and Kathy (Terry) Thompson. Additionally, Jessica leaves behind several nieces and nephews along with a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to give a special acknowledgement of thanks to Melvin and Murial Meade for their encouragement, love, and prayers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Lonnie Gore, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery at Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
