Jean Marie Kimler Obituary

Jean Marie Kimler, 77, of Holden, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2024, leaving from her residence.

She was born January 13, 1947, at Holden, WV, the daughter of the late Vernon and Shirley Ferguson Curry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Curry.

Jean was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a passion for creating beauty with her hands. As a skilled seamstress, Jean crafted stunning dresses and costumes for her granddaughters and grandchildren. She was an accomplished ceramist, shaping clay into beautiful works of art that graced many homes. She also had an eye for assembling beautiful flower arrangements for numerous events and occasions including weddings. Jean’s love for the outdoors was evident in the way she enjoyed spending time at the lake, camping, and fishing.

She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. An adventurer at heart, Jean found joy in the thrill of riding motorcycles and side-by-sides. Her faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life, and as a devout Christian, she attended the #7 Holden Freewill Baptist Church at Holden. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Jean leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and service.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Mike Kimler; two sons, Michael (Julie) Kimler of Holden, WV, and Mark (Lesley) Kimler of Bridgeport, WV; one daughter, Regina (Don) Robinson of Kingsport, TN; six grandchildren, Zachary (Haley) Robinson, Jenna (Roy) Hager, Luke (Halee) Robinson, Willie (Lexie) Kimler, Abagail (Jacob) Martin, and Wesley (Hannah Walling) Kimler; 11 great-grandchildren, Elijah Robinson, Kloey Johnson, Kinsley Johnson, Abram Hager, Phebe Hager, Madilyn Robinson, Kennedy Robinson, Harper Robinson, Lainey Kimler, McKinley Martin, and Cypher Martin; and one sister-in-law, Patty Curry of Julian, NC. Additionally, Jean leaves behind her nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
