James William Craddock, 88, of Big Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, leaving from CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.
He was born October 3, 1934, at Lake, WV, a son of the late Otto Waitmen and Julia Frances Bias Craddock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Evans; two brothers; and three sisters.
James was a retired U.S. Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed playing the guitar and teaching the good word of God. He loved his family and was so blessed to have neighbors who were so kind and caring.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Minda C. Craddock; two sons, Billy (Carla) Craddock and Brian (Amanda) Craddock both of Louisiana; three daughters, Kathy (Richard) Martin of Louisiana, Paula Sisson of Texas, and Tammy (JR) Adkins of Monaville, WV; one daughter-in-law, Greta Evans of Chapmanville, WV; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Additionally, James leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Damon Murphy officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
