James P. “Jim” Bailey, 69, of Logan, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, leaving from St. Francis Select Specialty Hospital at Charleston, WV.

He was born May 3, 1954, at Logan, WV, the son of the late Horace and Edna Finley Bailey.

Jim worked for many years as a coal miner. He was a Christian and a member of the West Logan Church of God. Jim was also an avid sports fan of Duke, Marshall, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene F. Phipps Bailey; one son, Allen P. (Felicia) Bailey of Logan, WV; one daughter, Jimi L. Bailey of Logan, WV; his twin brother, Jack M. (Connie) Bailey of Matthews, NC; and one nephew, Brandon S. Bailey of Logan, WV. Additionally, Jim leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Scotty Dingess officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

To honor Jim’s wishes, his remains have been cremated.
