James Gregory "Jamie" Cook

James Gregory “Jamie” Cook, 54, of Foster, WV, met his heavenly reward at home on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

He was born December 9, 1968, at Madison, WV, a son of Lola Musto Cook and the late James Lomer Cook.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lee Cook and John Dale Cook; one aunt, Annita Price; three uncles, Ricky Hall, Bobby Elkins, and Terry Elkins; and his mother-in-law, Kim Barnett.

Jamie, as he was affectionately known, was a union ironworker for over 30 years. He was a hard worker and a great provider. The only thing bigger than his work ethic was his heart. He was a wonderful husband and father, and his life revolved around his wife and children, who will miss him terribly. Jamie was always eager to help anyone in need, and his passing is a true loss.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Jennie Cook; one daughter, Sophie Cook; one son, Tanner Cook; his mother, Lola Cook; one brother, Tim Cook; one sister, Myra (TJ) Shepler; two brothers-in-law, Chris Barnett and John Barnett and their families; two aunts, Judy Hall and Icie Dillon; and one uncle, Mike (Kathy) Elkins. Additionally, Jamie leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at the Madison Baptist Church at Madison, WV, with Joe Stewart officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
