James E. “Butch” Lucas, Sr., 76, of Chapmanville, WV, slipped away from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV, on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Born February 2, 1945, at Banco, WV, he was the son of the late Ray J. Lucas and Leila Darby Lucas.

Butch was a proud U.S. Veteran, having served in the Navy.

Survivors include one son, James Lucas, Jr.; three granddaughters, McKenzie Kerr, Angel Lucas, and Alija “Lala” Lucas; two sisters, Margaret Peck of Honaker, VA, and Amelia “Ginny” Drawl of Mentor, OH. James also leaves behind his special friends and neighbors, T.J. and Ashley Deskins and their twin daughters, Emmy and Emma.

At James’ request, his remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
