James Aaron Ball, Sr.

James Aaron Ball, Sr., 71, of Hewett, WV, departed this life on Friday, January 14, 2022, at his son’s residence at Meadow Fork Road of Hewett, WV.  He was born on January 28, 1950, in Boone County, WV, the son of the late Alna and Minnie Ball.

James was a retired coal miner and member of Spruce Laurel Church.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and digging ginseng.  He loved spending time at his cabin on the hill. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Ball; son, Benjamin Ball; brothers, Jimmy Ball, Sherman Ball, and Andrew Ball; sister, Sharon Ball.

Survivors include his children, Erica Ball of Hewett, WV; James (Christina) Ball, Jr of Titusville, FL; Jeremy (Stacy) Ball of Hewett, WV, and April (Chad) Hessler; grandchildren, Faith Ball, Harley Ball, Jesse Ball, Ava Ball, Michelle Powell, Phillip Powell, Deserae “Desa” (Jimmy) Woodrum, Tyler Baldwin, Chelsey Baldwin, Leah Baldwin, McKenzie Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Jayme Ball, Nicholas Ball, Axel Ball, Peyton Hassler, and Shelby Hassler; 8 Great-Grandchildren; siblings, Mae Pagano, Erna McNeely, Larry Ball, and Wanda Ball Lester, and a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Little Rock Cemetery at Hewett, WV, with Pastor Paul Little and Ralph Caudill officiating.  Burial will follow at Little Rock Cemetery at Hewett, WV.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
