On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Iris Pearl Preece received the promotion of a lifetime. A reward she had worked so hard for. A reward that she longed for many years. She left her home in Stollings, WV, escorted by heavenly angels to move into her new home in Heaven.
She was a dedicated Christian who not only loved her Savior, but she was known for her kindness to others, always helping anyone and everyone who needed her. You didn’t have to talk to her very long to know she was a Christian, and she wanted all her family and friends to go to Heaven with her.
Pearl was 61 years old, born on August 7, 1962.
She was formerly employed as a cook at Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan. She was also a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church for 12 years, and she loved her church family dearly.
Pearl was the daughter of the late Mearlene Preece. Also preceding her in death are her grandmother, Pearl Frye; a very special friend, Tammy Beddows; and her canine companions, Sissy and Polly.
She is survived by her brother, Joe (Sarah) Preece of Linden, TX.
The family would like to thank Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville and Dr. James Stollings for helping during such a trying time. A special thanks to one of Pearl’s closest friends, Kristy Albright, for always being there to take her to doctor’s appointments and anything else she needed and for just being such a good friend. Also, a special thanks to Debbie Owens for taking the time to visit with her daily. Pearl had so many additional friends that visited every day and talked with her. She loved you all so much.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Allen Stowers officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pearl will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
