Ines Blankenship, 83 years old, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, suddenly at her home in Lake, WV, on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Born October 18, 1938, at Switzer, WV, she was the daughter of the late John R. Nelson and Sarah Browning Nelson.
Ines was a member of the Micco Jesus Church at Micco, WV. She also attended the Church of the Living God at Stollings, WV, for the last three years of her life. Ines served her Jesus faithfully and now her pain is gone, and she is in Heaven, rejoicing with her Lord Jesus, the one she longed to be with. She will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Annette Lewis and her husband, Robert, whom she considered a son, of Lake, WV; three granddaughters, Tiffany Workman, whom she raised from a baby as her own daughter, of Pasadena, CA, Brittany Staten and her companion, Jimmy Lucas, and Nicole Ritchie and her husband, Phillip, all of Stollings, WV; one great-granddaughter, Sara Aouni and her father, Aymen Aouni of Redondo Beach, CA; two best friends, Anna Stapleton and Mary Williams; and someone dear to her heart who called her “Granny,” Mark Bailey of Logan, WV. She also leaves behind a host of church family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Randall Shell officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
