In the early morning hours of May 19, 2021, Scott Maynard was welcomed into his eternal home; his earthly journey completed.
Born February 25, 1943 in Wayne County, WV to the late Lindsey and Mary (Horn) Maynard, Scott was a 1963 graduate of Chapmanville High School. It was there he would meet the girl with whom he would share the rest of his life.
Scott retired from service with the FBI, but being a man of great faith and a heart for the Lord, he ministered and pastored in both Virginia and West Virginia; retiring from pastoral work in 2019. His desire was always to help and encourage others throughout his entire life.
Scott is survived by Lynda (Hamilton) Maynard, his wife of 55 years; daughter Terri (Mike) Anthony; sons, Greg (Nikki) Maynard and Jeff (Heather) Maynard; grandchildren, Jessica Tavik, Linzy Maynard, Becky Anthony, Gregory Maynard Jr., and Lilly Grace Maynard; great grandchildren, Elli and Nicholas Tavik and Zelainey Maynard; brothers Bill and Lonnie Maynard and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Eunice and Emma Jean.
In honor of Scott's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of life dinner and gospel sing is being planned; with date and venue to be determined.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
