Harry Lee Tomblin Obituary

It is with the deepest of sorrows and the most broken of hearts that the family of Harry Lee Tomblin announce his passing in peace on his family farm surrounded by loved ones on August 18, 2025, at the age of 78 years young.

Lee’s story began on May 7, 1947, when he was given the title of the oldest bull in the barn yard to Clifford and Janice Tomblin of Mud Fork, WV, who also precedes him in death.

Lee could always be found in the moments he was needed the most, whether that meant sharing his time to stop and smell the roses with you, or looking for the next laugh. One of his favorite sayings was, “Life’s only fun if you let it be.”

He came from a time when a man’s word and handshake was all a man needed. As a young man, he joined the U.S. Army, where he was awarded Rifle Sharpshooter, but later in life was awarded the best puddle stomper by his grandchildren, who also taught him patience. He served as Deputy Sheriff for the Logan County Sheriff’s Department for several years, and he also worked in the coal mining industry.

Lee’s humor, matter of fact personality, and memories will be carried on by his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Friends and loved ones are invited to reminisce and pay respects at the Mud Fork Freewill Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 22, 2025. Memorial services will conclude at the American Legion Post 19 in Logan, WV, beginning at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post 19 to help give back to the local community that Lee served and loved.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
