Country roads took Harless White, 83, of Foster, West Virginia, home to join his wife, Ellie White, and daughter, Angel White, to walk in the Peace of the Valley on May 4th, 2025.
Harless served in the United States Navy from 1959-1971, and was a Vietnam War Veteran, where he was a BMC E7. He loved telling his family stories from his time in the Navy and was a natural born storyteller and an avid reader. Harless attended Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Mill Creek, West Virginia, where he celebrated that Old Time Religion.
He was a Joy to the World, especially to his surviving family members: daughters Lena “Jake” (Gilbert) Boltz and Leatha (Mikey) Moores; grandchildren Miranda White, Sierra (Jonathan) Whitaker, Trevor Boltz, and Marshall Perry; and sisters Dean Godby and Boo Boo Johnston.
Visitation will be at Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, West Virginia, on Friday May 9th at 11:00 A.M., memorial service at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Roscoe Chafin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests book or monetary donations be made to your local library.
