Gregory Neil Perry

Gregory Neil Perry, 74, of Verner, West Virginia, passed away peaceably, surrounded by close family and loved ones, on April 14, 2022.

Greg was born on January 19, 1948, in Welch, West Virginia, to Opal and Juanita Perry.  Greg was a graduate of Gilbert High School, Class of 1966.  After graduation, he worked for the family business, O.M. Perry Sand Company.  Afterwards, Greg became self-employed and worked in construction, trucking, and real estate.  As Greg grew older, he developed a passion for aviation.  He pursued and achieved his dream of obtaining his pilot license.

Greg also developed a love for Jesus Christ and was saved on August 19, 2021.  The family is so thankful knowing that one day they will be together again in Heaven.

Anyone that met Greg knew he was a kind, loving, and giving person and always wanted to see the best in everyone he met. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show and Bonanza.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita, his father, Opal, two brothers, Shane and  Zane Perry, and two sisters, Sharon and infant Perry.

He leaves behind his three children, Katrina (Jim) Perry of Lyburn, West Virginia, Kristi (Greg) Dotson of Winfield, West Virginia, and Tara (Steve) Davis of Grundy, Virginia.

He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Eric, Kayla, Brooke, Kyle, Logan, and Gracie; and 4 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brayden, Easton and Karson.

We mourn the loss of our father and encourage everyone that knew him to remember the family in their thoughts and prayers.

To honor Greg’s wishes, his remains will be cremated.

There will be a memorial service for Gregory Perry on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert, WV, with Eddie Merritt officiating.

Greg will be laid to rest beside his brother, Zane, at Skyline Cemetery in Justice, WV.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
