Greg “Smokey” Brammer, 72, of Peach Creek, WV, departed this life on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV, after a brief illness.
Born June 27, 1950, at Logan, WV, he was a son of the late William H. and Madge Brammer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Josh Brammer; and one sister, Jeannie Brammer.
Greg was a 1968 graduate of Logan High School. Shortly after graduation, he began his career working at Appalachian Power Company, where he had over 40 years of service. Greg was also a United States Army veteran earning the rank of Spec 4. He was an avid animal lover, and he always kept freeze pops and sweet treats for the children of Peach Creek who came to know and love him as “Smokey.” He also coached Little League Baseball. Greg recently gave his life to the Lord and accepted Christ as his Savior, so we now have the blessed hope of seeing him again in Heaven. He will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Chris Brammer of Peach Creek; two grandsons, Tate Brammer and Ty Warren Brammer; and one brother, Larry (Lana) Brammer of West Logan, WV. Additionally, Greg leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
To honor Greg’s wishes, his remains have been cremated, and there will be no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
