George Thurman Fry, 83, of Logan, WV, went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life on Friday June 28, 2024.
Born April 6, 1941, in Logan, WV, he was the son of the late Wayne and Carime Knipp Fry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Edna Fry; his infant son, Jerry Fry; and 3 brothers, Bill Fry, Richard Fry, and Raymond Fry all of Stollings, WV.
George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was the owner and operator of Stollings Service Center. George gave his life to the Lord in June 2016 and faithfully attended Victory FWB Church at Pecks Mill, WV. He will be so very missed by all his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his 3 children, Michael (Hattie) Fry, Tammy (Gary) White, and Joshua (Odessa) Fry all of Logan, WV; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Aaron (Mary) Fry and their children, Aareona and Myah, Stephanie (Ryan) Estep and their children, Sylas, Avery, and Sierra, Zayden White and Hunter White, Cary (Derrick) Burkes and their son, Draysen, Ashleigh (Chase) Thompson and their children, Kasen and soon to be Cooper, Trenton, Sawyer, Skylynn, and Tucker Fry, and Billy (Elizabeth) White; one special niece, Lori (Dennis) Scheuvront and her two sons, Andrew and Nicholas Lester; four brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Frye, David (Jeanne) Fry, Johnny (Pat) Fry, and Danny (Terry) Fry; three sisters, Jewel Korody, Retha (Ronnie) Carter, and Carime (Gary) Brown. Additionally, George leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and church family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV. Services will be officiated by his pastor, Rev. Roscoe Chafin, and assisted by Rev. Richard Belcher.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Pallbearers will be family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
