Geneva Mae Speight, 54, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Friday, March 20, 2026, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.
She was born August 7, 1971, at Mount Gay, WV, to the late Jim and Bessie Vance Williamson.
Geneva was the heartbeat of her family, and the love she held for each member was unwavering. She was a fixture at family reunions, which was one of her favorite events to attend. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life. Her love language was that of steadfast companionship and care, often reflected in her affection for her dogs, caring for and walking them daily. Geneva also had a love for music. Her legacy is not merely one of survival but of thriving despite the odds, continuously moving forward with grace and determination.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Tyler Speight and Todd Mowery; her grandchildren, Braxton Mowery, Hendrix Mowery, Lennox Mowery, and Isla Mowery; and one brother, Avery Williamson. Additionally, Geneva leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Jimmy Carter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sheppard-Meeks Cemetery at Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
