Geneva Adkins, 87, of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.
She was born March 3, 1936, at Slagle, WV, a daughter of the late Bill and Ethel Daughtery Brewster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Adkins; five brothers, Gary Brewster, Mark Brewster, Gene Brewster, Raymond Brewster, and Terry “Butch” Brewster; and two sisters, Patty Crone and Helen Noel.
Geneva was a devoted and faithful Christian for many years. She was a wonderful mother and caretaker who had a heart of gold. An avid gardener, Geneva loved planting and tending to flowers. She was also a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She is greatly loved and missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Sonny (Susie) Adkins of Chapmanville, WV; three daughters, Audrey (Clyde) Hunter and Melissa “Missy” (L. Jay) Mathis both of Chapmanville, WV, and Kelli Adkins-Kelley of Cross Lanes, WV; six grandchildren, Shannon Hunter, Audrey (Adrian) Adams, Joshua Belcher, Tabitha (Glen) Meadows, Ryder Kelley, and Casey Adkins; four great-grandchildren, Landon Belcher, Sydney Belcher, Grayson Meadows, and Alden Hunter; three brothers, Dean (Juanita) Brewster and Ernie (Yvonne) Brewster both of North Carolina, and Phillip (Nila) Brewster of Chapmanville, WV; and one sister, Susan (Stephen) Judd of Trinity, NC. Additionally, Geneva leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Vivie Marcum officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lilly Cemetery at Chapmanville, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
There will be no visitation.
