Gary Dale Adkins, 71, of Lewis County, WV, formerly of Harts, WV, was welcomed home to the Lord on March 6, 2025.

He was born June 4, 1953, at Logan County, WV, a son of the late Charlie Adkins, Jr., and Geraldine Lambert Printz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Christina Lambert.

Gary worked as a coal miner and electrician at several different coal companies until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and his many friends. He was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching and umpiring Little League Baseball teams. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he will long be remembered for his dedication to his family.

Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cindy Adkins; two sons, Anthony Adkins and his companion, Stephanie Chipps, and Jon Adkins and his wife, Tiffany; five grandchildren, Kenna Adkins, Wade Adkins, Tiara Adkins, Teela Adkins, and Taylor Conrad; and two brothers, Mark Workman and Orval Workman, Jr., both of Harrisonburg, VA. Additionally, Gary leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Scotty Dingess officiating.

To honor his wishes, Gary will be cremated.
