Gary Burl Miller, 75, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.
Born February 21, 1947, at Slagle, WV, he was the son of the late Burl and Mildred Wilson Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Michaela McAvoy; one sister, Judy Sanders; and one sister-in-law, Mona Miller.
Gary was a retired coal miner and park services maintenance worker. He was also a United States Veteran, having served in the Army. Gary was known for his unique style and loved his antique cars. He had a love for attending car shows and cruise-ins, often showcasing his own cars as well. Gary’s other favorite pastimes included gardening and sharing his harvest with others. Gary could often be found spending his evenings with friends and gathering at bonfires.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Kevin (Rachel) Miller of Chapmanville, WV; his daughter, Dena (Matthew) McAvoy of Robards, KY; two granddaughters, Marissa McAvoy and Madison McAvoy both of Robards, KY; three brothers, Dale Miller and Bobby (Linda) Miller both of Chapmanville, WV, and Jackie (Nancy) Miller of Chattanooga, TN; one sister, Debbie (Dale) Richards of Chapmanville, WV; one brother-in-law, Bo Sanders of Chapmanville, WV; his best friend and neighbor, Danny Farley of Chapmanville, WV. In addition, Gary also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice or perform a random act of kindness in Gary’s honor.
