Fredrick Ray Runyon (Fred), age 71, of Logan, WV departed this life Sunday, May 16, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, WV.
He was born on May 29, 1949 to the late Ray and Myrtle Jeffrey Runyon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Runyon and Dora McClellan and one brother James Runyon. One granddaughter Crystal Hall. Also, his special companion Susie.
Fred is survived by his wife Anna Jean Roberts Runyon. Children Donald (Melinda) Runyon of Georgia and David Runyon Hilton Head S.C., Cindy (John) Armstrong of Holden, Debra, Darrell, Jeffery and Alfred (Bucky) (Melinda) of Logan. Brother Scott (Marie) Runyon of Cleveland, Ohio and Richard Runyon. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A special nephew Gene McClellan and a special friend Robbie (Beverly) Grove.
Fred was a member of Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church, veteran of the US Navy, a coal miner for 22years, a truck driver for Ferguson Inc and a bus driver for several hotel while living at Hilton Head, SC. He graduated from Logan High in 1967. He was a student at Strayer University. He was a fan of WV football, NASA car, hunting, and fishing.
Per Fred’s request a memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church, Whitman, WV on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour before service. A private gravesite service for family will be held at a later date.
