Frederick “Dickie” Dingess, 74, of Chapmanville, West Virginia, was born in Shively on February 16, 1947. He gained his wings on November 4, 2021.
Dickie was a College Graduate at Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College. He was also a Vietnam Veteran having served 1 year, and he also served in the Air Force for 4 years. He was a coal miner for 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henderson Dingess and Mabel Stollings; one brother, Donald Dingess; two nieces, Janet McCoy and Christine Jackson; one nephew, Harold Cheyanne Dingess; and one brother-in-law, Harold Hamlin.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Darlene Dingess; one brother, David (Deb) Dingess; two sisters, Billie Jean Hamlin and Linda (Ray) Welch; his sister-in-law, Geraldine Dingess; nieces, Connie (Jim) Christian, Cindy (Ray) Kayler, and Odessa Ashley Dingess; nephews, Chris Dingess, Donald Dingess, Jr., and Jonathan Rodgers; his daughters, Stacy Stollings (Travis Frye), Lisa Maynard (Billie Wheatley), and Kelly Adkins; one son, Chris Ferrell; his grandchildren, Zachary Stollings, Dustin Vance, Jerica Maynard, Isabella Adkins, Jason Adkins, and Billie Wheatley. Dickie also leaves behind a host of other extended family members and special friends including Fulton Toney and his family, Munk Hager, and Howie Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV with Shane Bryant officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, and Military Honors will be observed. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In keeping with Dickie's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so that others may live.
