Fred Stollings, 81, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Boone Memorial Hospital at Madison, WV.
He was born July 15, 1942, at Chapmanville, WV, the son of the late Homer and Sallie Stollings.
Fred was a mechanic for the Logan County Board of Education, where he worked for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed watching Westerns and NASCAR. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Freddie (Teresa) Stollings of Chapmanville, WV; one daughter, Sally Stollings and her companion, Randy Tomblin of Chapmanville, WV; four grandsons, Christopher Wayne (Charlotte) Stollings of Hernshaw, WV, James Matthew Stollings of California, Adam Joseph Stollings of Chapmanville, WV, and Andrew Faine of Chapmanville, WV; three great-grandchildren, Bianca Stollings, Austin Stollings, and Abigail Stollings; one sister, Glenna Wellman; two stepsisters, Connie Struck and Darlena McPeek; the mother of his children, Ernestine Stollings of Chapmanville, WV; an additional son, Jimmy Hanna of Chapmanville, WV; and one daughter-in-law, JoAnn (Robert) McKinney of Chapmanville, WV. Additionally, Fred leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Jimmy Carter officiating.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
To honor Fred’s wishes, his remains have been cremated.
