Fred Allen Riffe, 79, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at CAMC Memorial Hospital at Charleston, WV.
Born November 19, 1942, at Big Creek, WV, he was the son of the late John Emmett and Annabelle Franklin Riffe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Bell Riffe; one son, Mark Riffe; one sister, Mary Adams; and one brother, Johnny Riffe.
Fred was an auto mechanic for many years. He was owner and operator of Fred Riffe’s Garage in Chapmanville, WV. In his spare time, Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved watching Westerns, but his favorite TV show was Mollie B Polka Party. Fred will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his companion of 20 years, Barbara Akers of Chapmanville, WV; one son, Michael “Pooh” (Sheila DeHart) Riffe of Omar, WV; two grandchildren, Summer Podunavac of Clothier, WV, and Landon Riffe of Madison, WV; one great-grandson, Gunnar Podunavac; his nieces and nephews, Robin Mutters of Chapmanville, WV, Katie Diamond of Barboursville, WV, Kenneth Riffe of Chapmanville, WV, and Chris Riffe of Ona, WV; special friends, Hershel Osborne, Delmer Egnor, Glenn “Houn Dog” Adkins, Gary Packo, Sr., Gary Packo, Jr., Phillip Blevins, and Riley Joe Evans. Additionally, Fred leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Matt Dameron officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
