Fannie Jane Moore Obituary

Fannie Jane Moore, 85, of Verdunville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2024, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.

She was born March 23, 1938, at Coal Branch, a daughter of the late Moss Wilson Miller and Easter Marcum Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zane Moore; one son, David Moore; siblings, Harvey Vance, Elsa Mae Trent, Roy Vance, Eugene Vaughn, James Miller, Frank Miller, Mossie Miller, and Pauline Ward.

Fannie devoted herself to her family as a homemaker, creating a home filled with joy, love, and laughter. Cooking was her specialty, and her kitchen was the heart of her home, where family and friends gathered to savor her delicious meals and sweet treats and to enjoy her company. She was a devout Christian and a dedicated member of the Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Fannie's knack for making people laugh was one of her most endearing qualities. She was always the prankster, never missing an opportunity to lighten the mood or bring a smile to someone's face. Her laughter was infectious, and her sense of humor brought comfort and happiness to those around her, even in the most challenging times. Fannie leaves a legacy of laughter and love that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Mary Jane (Jerry) Vance of Verdunville, WV, and Gary Moore of Henlawson, WV; three grandchildren, Shane Merritt of Logan, WV, Destiny Dawn (Cody) Dingess of Pecks Mill, WV, and Christopher (Ashton) Gore of Whitman, WV; two great-grandchildren, Briggs Elliott Dingess and Arialynn Gore; and one brother, Charles (Libby) Miller of McConnell, WV.  Additionally, Fannie leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

To honor Fannie’s wishes, her remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
