Etta Geraldine Kirk, 83, of Hewett, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, leaving from her residence.
She was born July 20, 1941, at Lake, WV, to the late Stollie and Ona Craddock Ferrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith Kirk; two brothers, Roy Ferrell and Bill Ferrell; one sister, Loretta Hunter; and one son-in-law, David Dunlap.
Etta was a homemaker. She loved to crochet, and she enjoyed watching soap operas. She was a devout Christian and member of the Spencer United Methodist Church. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Etta was very devoted to her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Timmy (Jeana) Kirk of Hewett, WV; three daughters, Tammy (Wendle) Cook, Tawnya Dunlap, and Teresa (Thomas) Butcher all of Hewett, WV; her grandchildren, Bridget (Wally) Ball, Chris Butcher, Chad Butcher, Shane (Emily) Cook, and Shannon Dunlap; her great-grandchildren, Jon Ball, Winston Cook, and Wyatt Cook; one sister, El (Doug) Browning; and two brothers, Stollie “Buddy” Ferrell, Jr., and Rod (Debbie) Ferrell. Additionally, Etta leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Kirk Cemetery at Hewett, WV, with Rev. Roger McCauley and Rev. Shane Cook officiating.
Following the service, she will be lovingly laid to rest beside her husband in the Kirk Cemetery at Hewett, WV.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
