Ephra Stollings McNew Paull, affectionately known as Eve, 90, of Winston Salem, NC, formerly of Akron, OH, and Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2024, leaving from Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.


She was born December 15, 1934, at Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Johnny and Willa Adkins Stollings.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard McNew; her second husband, George Paull; one daughter, Cheryl McNew; one son, Phillip McNew; one brother, Jack Stollings; and one sister, Jean DelSesto.


Eve served as Vice President of the Western Reserve Psychiatric Center of Ohio for many years. She was a devout Christian and lived her faith daily and found great joy in attending church. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. Family was the cornerstone of Eve’s world. She was a loving matriarch who took immense pride in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. Eve also loved cooking and baking. Her creative talents were a gift that she shared generously with those around her. Known for her exceptional skills in decorating and making crafts, she brought beauty and warmth to every space she touched. She was also a very creative event planner, an attribute her family will talk about for generations to come. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.


Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Donna (Richard) Garrett of Winston Salem, NC, and Debbie (Jimmy) Butcher of Pittsboro, NC; one son, Darryl McNew of Stow, OH; her grandchildren, Eva (Chris) Bailey, Stephanie (Chris) Burnette, Jimmy Butcher, Jr., and Richelle (Chad) Hansen; her great-grandchildren, Sarah Burnette and her fiancé, Jacob Johnson, Jasmine Burnette, Christopher Burnette, Jr., Aidan Roberge, Abigail Hansen, Gabriel Hansen, and Jaelynn Butcher; one great-great-grandson, Jacob Johnson, Jr.; one brother, Snook (Judy) Stollings; and four sisters, Flora Mae (John) Serrafine, Carolyn (Hank) Stowers, Regina Ferguson, and Kathy Stollings. Additionally, Eve leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.


Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Phillip Meade officiating.


Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.


Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home.
