Dortha June Evans Jarrell

Dortha June Evans Jarrell, age 89, of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, in her home after a long health battle.

She was born February 25, 1933, in Logan County, WV. She was daughter of the late Henry Jefferson Evans and the late Thelma Wellman Evans, both of Logan County, WV.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delbert Okie Jarrell, whom she married October 24, 1952; one sister, Ilalue & brother-in-law, William Seaback of Brook Park, OH. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Christopher Columbus Jarrell and Celia Jarrell Merritt, both of Henlawson, WV.

Mrs. Jarrell was of the Baptist Faith and last attended the Parma Heights Baptist Church, Parma Heights, OH. She was a 1951 graduate of Chapmanville High School and attended Chicago Business School, Chicago, IL. Before retiring, she worked in the Accounting Department of United Food Service of Cleveland, OH; Al Greene Vending, Brook Park, OH and Customer Service Representative for Distribution Centers Inc., Cleveland, OH. She loved sewing, crafting, and taking care of her flower gardens. Cooking delicious meals for her family brought her a lot of joy.

Survivors are her daughter, Henrietta Jeffner Pattantyus of Brook Park, OH, granddaughter, Samantha June Pattantyus of Athens, OH, niece, Leota Carol Davis and nephew, Dewey Dean Davis of Parma, OH, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Blanche Jarrell of North Ridgeville, OH and cousins, Tommy Lee and Annette Fink of Logan, WV.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins living in WV & OH.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-9 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Chapmanville, WV. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 28, 2022, also at Evans Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.
