Doris Ann Brown Tomblin, 87, of Barboursville, WV, formerly of Chapmanville, WV, born to the late Millard and Pearl Brown on September 29, 1936, at Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at her residence Village at Riverview in Barboursville, WV.

She was a 1954 graduate of Chapmanville High School and a retired office manager at Verizon Business Office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Genevieve Keenan and Marilyn Barker; three brothers, Paul Brown, Ronald Brown, and Tom Brown; brothers-in-law, Orville Keenan and Carl Barker; one sister-in-law, Sonya Brown; and one nephew, Dwaine Barker.

She is survived by one sister, Rene (John) Counts. She was a special aunt to Ronnie Barker, Chris Barker, Bryan Counts, Mark Counts, Steff Counts, Elaine Stolte, Brad Keenan, Carla McCoy, and Tommy Brown. Also surviving her are her Village of Riverview family at Barboursville and a host of friends.

She loved quilting and flower gardening. She also enjoyed attending evening church service at the Village.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Steve Hinkle officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

To honor Doris Ann’s wishes, her remains will be cremated.
