Donald Richard Kinney, born March 15, 1943, in Logan County, WV, son of the late Clyde and Lilly McClellan Kinney, departed this life on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV.
Don was a retired local businessman known by many. He worked in the gas station and gutter businesses for many years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Don was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. in Logan, WV. He was also a member of the York Rite and a KCCH Scottish Rite. He had served as former High Priest and Commander in the York Rite and was also a member of the Beni-Kedem Shrine Temple in Charleston, WV. Don was a proud Shriner Clown and was known as “Puddles”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Charles Kinney, who were also U.S. Veterans.
Don is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Joyce; one son, of whom he was very proud, Donn Kinney, II; two brothers, Larry and Bill Kinney; and one special friend and brother for over 50 years, Bill Workman. Additionally, Don also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved so much, along with an extended host of friends and family, especially all of his brothers at the Aracoma Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. in Logan, WV.
At Don’s request, there will be no services.
