Dewey Lee Jarrells, 83, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Country View Nursing Home of Sunbury in Sunbury, OH.

He was born December 23, 1940, at Harts, WV, a son of the late Flint and Garnet Tomblin Jarrells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rose Jarrells; and two brothers, Bobby Jarrells and Jesse Jarrells.

Dewey made his living as an auto mechanic and was employed by Automotive Distributors of Ohio where he dedicated many years of his life until his retirement. He had a love for classic cars and trucks. Above all, Dewey was a devoted family man, and he found his greatest happiness in the time spent with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Sandy (Jim) Vaughn of Sunbury, OH; one grandson, Eric Vaughn of Delaware, OH; his siblings, Agie Jarrells of Verdunville, WV, Johnny (Dorsie) Jarrells of Foster, WV, Wanda (Stan) Adkins, and Sharon (Bill) Christian both of Chapmanville, WV. Additionally, Dewey leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

The Jarrells family wishes to extend a heartfelt condolence and special thanks for the exceptional care given by Country View Nursing Home of Sunbury and Bella Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV.

Burial will follow in the Baisden-Conley Cemetery at Dingess, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
