Denise Lynn Collins Hairston, 50, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Man, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from her residence in Huntington, WV.

Born August 20, 1972, at Welch, WV, she was the daughter of Dennis Collins of Man, WV, and Lorene Lester Eplin of Logan, WV.

Denise was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Olen and Mervil Lester, her paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Maggie Collins, and one cousin, Alvis Bowles.

Denise worked in environmental services at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a 1990 graduate of Man High School. In her spare time, Denise enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Reginald Hairston; her mother and step-father, Lorene (Mark) Eplin of Logan, WV; her father, Dennis Collins of Man, WV; two sons, Brandon (Sara) Messer of Charleston, WV, and Trey (Morgan) Osborne of Oceana, WV; one step-son, Reginald Hairston, Jr., of Bluefield, WV; her grandchildren, Kinsleigh Grace Messer, Jasmine Messer, Payton Osborne, and Phoenix Osborne; two sisters, Heather Jo Collins of Huntington, WV, and Jade Collins of Man, WV; two brothers, Austin Collins and Xzavier Collins both of Man, WV; one sister-in-law, Rita Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC; her nieces and nephews, Lewis Maynard, Devin Maynard, Serenity Vaughn, Neveah Collins, and Aeshawn Hairston; her parents-in-law, Ralph and Anita Hairston of Maybeury, WV; one special friend, Tammy. Additionally, Denise leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. PJ Tomblin officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.

To honor Denise’s wishes, her remains will be cremated following the services.
