Delsie Vance, 92, of Chapmanville, WV, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

She was born to the late Lige and Chloe Tomblin Williamson on September 27, 1932, at Logan, WV.

Delsie is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Golden Vance; two sons, Edward and Wandel Vance; one grandson, Richard D. Vance; one stepdaughter, Juanita Lambert; five brothers, Melve, Hi, Roy, Junior, and Wayne; and four sisters, Demi, Mae, Nina, and Nettie.

Delsie is survived by one son, Randall (Kay) Vance; nine grandchildren, Randall D. (Jennifer) Vance, Jarrod (Crystal) Vance, Jennifer (Kevin) Evans, Joshua (Hanna) Vance, Edward Vance, Steve (Kelly) Lambert, Shawn (Cindy) Lambert, Dave Lambert, and Denise Lambert; 25 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Delsie’s passions in life were cooking, canning, quilting, farming, listening to Alan Jackson, and attending the Baptist Church faithfully. She enjoyed decorating and taking care of her family cemeteries. Her passion for cooking led her to attend West Virginia University and receive a degree as a dietitian. Unfortunately, she will be taking some delicious recipes with her because she made the best food. Delsie will be deeply missed and always remembered.

The family would like to give a special thank you to those who have helped with Granny in any way and to those who have helped at the cemetery.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Elders Wornie Meeks and Charles Paulsen officiating.

Burial will follow in the Vance Cemetery at Harts, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Randall D., Jarrod, Joshua, Kevin, and Blake.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
