Debra Lynn Cornes was born July 18, 1971, in Williamson, WV and departed this life on July 29, 2023, to be with the Lord in Heaven. She was the daughter of late William “Bill” Cornes and Nellie (Jude) Cornes.
Debra loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending church at Word Of Life in Logan, West Virginia, and helping others in their journey to recovery. She loved God and her Pastors Josh and Conswella Vanhook. She took pride in her sobriety and inspired many. Debra was a graduate from the Marjorie Oakley Women’s Home in Logan. Debra had many friends including Danielle Adkins, Chrystal May, Gabby Adkins, and Robin Abbott. Often, she recognized Lisa Sigmon, Gabby Adkins, Pastors Josh and Conswella Vanhook, and Cordelia Workman for her successful journey to sobriety. Debra made God her priority and accepted him as her Lord and Savior. Debra was Baptized by Pastor Joshua in September of 2022 alongside her daughter Alexis, who was near giving birth to her second grandchild, Roman. She was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
She leaves behind a daughter Alexis Ransom, two grandchildren Moana Dream Adams and Roman Maui Adams, sisters Angelia Hardin, Pamela (Tim) Granger, niece Ashlea (Torris) Johnson, one great niece Lea Rose Johnson, two uncles Don and Mosey Jude, Aunts Shannon McCoy and Dorothy Canterbury, cousins Bryan and Karen Canterbury, cousins Judy and Meg.
Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Word of Life Church at Logan, WV with Pastor Josh Vanhook Officiating. Burial will follow at Collins Cemetery in Warfield, KY.
