David “Hairbo” Blevins, 57, of Peach Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, leaving from his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 13, 1967, at Logan, WV, a son of the late Frank and Juanita Faye Pack Blevins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Blevins, Jr., and Gabriel Ferrell; one sister, Inez Hanshaw; his first wife, Tina Blevins; and two nieces, Alisha Collins and Hannah Bryant.
David was a coal truck driver for 17 years. His career path later led him to the West Virginia Department of Highways, where he continued to serve his community until his well-earned retirement. Beyond his professional life, David was a man of many passions. He found joy and strength in reading the Bible and singing in church. He was a devoted Christian and member of the Wilkinson Community Church.
An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed fishing and camping. A Pittsburgh Steelers fan, David's enthusiasm on game days was infectious. His creative spirit led him to build intricate model cars, a hobby that showcased his attention to detail and patience. He was a family man, but it was his role as a grandfather that brought David immeasurable joy. His grandson, Tidus, along with all of his grandchildren, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. David will long be remembered for his hard work, devotion to his faith, and his unwavering commitment to his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kimberly Blevins; one daughter, Ailee Blevins (Austin Copley); one son, Jeremy Adkins; one grandson, Tidus Copley; nieces and nephews, T.J., Val, Memory, Eva, Ean, Cody, Chloe, Jacob A., Jacob B., Beth, Tara (Blake) Adams, Conner White, Laura Lambert, Josh Ball, and Austin Ball; great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved like grandchildren, Brentley White, Jace White, Kyra White, Jarren Dingess, Tommy Blackburn, Gregory Pack, and Colton Prichard. Additionally, David leaves behind a host brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who he loved dearly along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Carson Fannin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Collins Family Cemetery at Williamson, WV. Serving as pallbearers are T.J. White, Randy Hanshaw, Jacob Allen, Josh Ball, Josiah Bryant, Cody Bryant, and Austin Copley. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Ean Allen.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
