David J. Welker, Sr.

David J. Welker, Sr., 65, of Lake, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

Born May 23, 1956, at Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Frank Welker, Sr., and Gloria Milian Welker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Welker; one sister, Rosemarie Bentley; and one daughter, Angela Walker.

David was an appliance repairman and was the continuous owner/operator of Sun Appliance in Lake, WV, since 1994. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting coins and was a genealogy enthusiast. He also loved building and fixing anything and everything he could. A family man, David loved spending time with his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Welker; his children, Melissa (Ryan) Healy of CT, David Welker, Jr., of TX, Tiffany (Jennings) Lambert and Brandi Welker (Todd Colegrove) all of Lake, WV; two special grandchildren whom he raised and thought of as his own, Brooklyn Henry and Seth (Jamie) Adams; four granddaughters, Veronica Healy, Madeline Healy, Olivia Lambert, and Ella Lambert; three brothers, Frank Welker, Jr., of OH, Daniel Welker and Stephen (Diane) Welker all of FL; and one sister, Elizabeth (Gary) Tritt of GA. Additionally, David also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

To honor David’s wishes, his remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.
