David E. Gore, 77, of Stollings, WV, passed away December 1, 2020, at home, surrounded by his loving family that was the apple of his eye.
David was born November 26, 1943, in Logan, WV, to the late Emil Gore, Sr. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by special grandparents, Eli and Bessie Gore; and one brother, Richard D. Gore.
David proudly served two tours in the Vietnam War in the United States Army as a Sergeant Engine Repairman. He was a retired coal miner and enjoyed his retirement with Linda, Shane, Brandi, and his grandbabies. If you didn’t see him fishing, he was at one of his grandchildren’s events. He was always involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Very involved in youth coaching, David was always ready to help out in any way. He never met a stranger and was a one-of-a-kind, gentle giant.
Those left to cherish his memories are his lovely wife of 50 years, Linda Bowers Gore; his son, Shane (Michelle) Gore of Justice Addition, WV; his babygirl, Brandi (Buddy) Gore-Vance of Mitchell Heights, WV. Additionally, he leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren that he dearly cherished: Jacob Vance of Stollings, WV, Shayna Gore of Huntington, WV, and Branson Gore of Justice Addition, WV; his loving brother, Emil “Junebug” (Jeanie) Gore and a host of special nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no services. Friends and family may visit at David’s residence with current COVID-19 restrictions applied.
Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV, is in charge of the arrangements.
