Daniel Steven Varney, 47, of West Logan, WV died on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Chapmanville, WV.  He was born on September 22, 1977, at Huntington, WV, the son of the late Barbara Ann Varney.

Daniel was a skilled welder by trade, respected by his colleagues for his craftsmanship and dedication. An avid sports enthusiast, Daniel's passion for the Duke Blue Devils and Ohio State Buckeyes was matched only by his love for music and his talent for working on stereos. His creativity and handiness were a source of admiration, and his ability to fix almost anything was as strong as his dedication to his beloved family. Daniel was known for his heart of gold, always extending a helping hand to those in need, be they lifelong friends or strangers. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on through the countless lives he has impacted. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer and Barbara Lois Varney and Lawrence and Jackie Dingess; and one uncle, Kent Varney.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Varney; son, Joseph Dean, father, Robert (Cheryl) Dingess, mother-in-law, Patricia Dean; brother, David (Stefanie) Dingess; sister, Jessica (John) Newman; brother-in-law, Joe Dean; uncles, Brent Varney and David Dean; aunt, Jennifer Dean; special cousin, Danielle Varney; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Kermit United Baptist Church at Kermit, WV, with Damien Salmons officiating.
