Dallas Meeks, 86, of Harts, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2021, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV.
Born February 18, 1935, at Wilsondale, WV, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Mary Vance Meeks.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva “Peanuts” Meeks; one son, Jeff Meeks; one son-in-law, Rodney Tomblin; one granddaughter, Loretta Tomblin; three sisters; and two brothers.
Dallas made his living as a coal miner until his retirement. He was also a member of the U.M.W.A. Dallas was a devout Christian, minister, and an Old United Baptist member for over 50 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed coon hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharol Maynard Meeks; one daughter, Jeanie (Johnny) Mullins; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Meeks; two grandchildren, Johnathan Mullins and Tiffani Meeks; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Wandel (Judy) Meeks. Additionally, Dallas also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV, with Brother Tommy Vance, Elder Linzie Queen, and Tom Vance officiating.
Burial will follow in the Browning Cemetery at Harts, WV. Pallbearers will be Johnathon Mullins, Ked Messer, Aaron Browning, Darrell Stroud, Lige Paulsen,and Warnie Meeks.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV.
